This cosy little cottage is located right next to the beautiful and quiet beach of Induruwa.
We had a clean room with balcony and view on the garden/beach.

Pinsiri is a fantastic and friendly host and the sri lankan food was amazing.

We definetely recommend staying there if you want to relax at the beach and enjoy local food.


Located right on the beach at Induruwa this hotel is basic but it met all of our needs. Our room was clean and an adequate size. The bed was not overly comfortable and the little pillow was lumpy. There was a mosquito net and a ceiling fan but there are mosquitoes. The bathroom was very basic with a cold shower. The outdoor dining area was lovely with a view of the beach and ocean. There is a sitting area with recliners in front of the hotel on the sand just set back from the beach. It was great to sit in the shade of the palm trees and read. The beach is wonderful but be aware there is a strong undertow in the water. There is an indoor library with some English language books. The Wifi worked most of the time. The Western breakfast was generous and delicious especially the homemade bread ( toasted ) and the homemade  mango jam. We had dinner there and it was a wonderful tuna curry with rice and lots of other tasty dishes. The owners, Pitchou and Henny, were very friendly and helpful. The serving staff were also sweet. The hotel is in need of a renovation but will have to wait until the owners change. The upstairs rooms (3) are in better shape than the two lower rooms where we stayed. 

On arrival we were greeted by friendly owners and their pets. The room was clean and the location on the beach was great, very quiet place for rest after many weeks travelling. The owners were very helpful and so lovely!

We would recommend that they get simple cotton sheets for the beds and better pillows, the pillows smelt bait musty and sweaty, especially since most people sweat in the night, we recommended pillow protectors to them which they were considering.

A perfect place to start our Sri Lanka trip. Hannelore and Pinsiri picked us up from the airport and gave us a warm welcome to the country and their place. It is not a verry luxe place to stay. As Hannelore describes they need to paint the house every year because of The quick decreasing of stuff on The beach side. If you do not really bother on a basic, warm and not perfect bathroom and bedroom this is a perfect place! We really loved this place and these people!

Cosy Cottage at the Beach

Nice people...great location

Lovely people, lovely food

A bit late to review, it's not November 2022, it's June 2015, i saw this online today and remembered. Nice views, beautiful beach, rooms are very average. They charge u for giving hot water, food is average and costly. Owner and German wife friendly. There is a small railway station nearby, beautiful. The town as a whole has the old time charm. Can visit this place if want some quite time.

Peacefull

The place is awesome! They have their own beach with threes. It is quiet and relaxing.
Stuff is not so frendly. It was nice, that owner drived us to see turtles for free, but when we left the hotel, he looked at us like he didn't know us and we were there for two nights. This was the only hotel in three weeks in Sri Lanka where we have to pay 10% for service and we were without toilet paper. The food is not so tasty and too expensive.
The only good thing is quiet location with the beach.
