First of all it was very easy to locate. Just outside the main road, good parking space too. The young manager is very good at communicating. No hassle, very organized. i was hesitant to visit hence few of older reviews. But for the price i gave it a shot and i can 100% recommend, a hotel with pool, restaurant for 30$ a night is a steal compared to others. I got it for 25$ hence i called directly.

We really enjoyed our stay in Villa Water Lily. Our family room was fine and clean.  The pool was very nice. A little oasis in the city of Galle. Food selection was really good, beyond what to expect in a guesthouse. The owner and his wife were very friendly and welcoming.

i have visited 2017-dec-30 &31 with my friends. nice place. and worth money. i have check most places, really expensive compare to this. it has a nice pool. near to highway. really easy to get way when the terrific is hit on the most roads. foods also not much high price.
we took a three wheel for visit unawatuna and jungle beach. not much high price. its very easy to travel when you are drunk.

Great stay in Galle

We had a disappointing experience at this villa, despite confirming all details prior to our booking. Upon our arrival, when we placed our food order, a staff member informed us that we were required to order snacks (bites) before any food could be served. This came as a complete surprise since no such policy had been mentioned during the booking process.

When I inquired if this was an official policy, the staff member attributed it to the owner's wife. Shortly after, she approached us, claiming it was for our "convenience" as preparing food would take time. We assured her that we were fine waiting, and the matter seemed resolved.

However, about 15 minutes later, the owner himself insisted that we must order snacks before any food, stating that "in every place, people should order snacks before ordering food." This so-called policy felt absurd, as it forced us to make purchases we didn’t choose. When I pointed out that we hadn't been informed of this beforehand, the owner became aggressive, instructing his staff to enforce this rule for future guests as if the staff were at fault for not informing us earlier.

This encounter completely ruined the relaxing atmosphere we had anticipated and left us feeling frustrated. We came to the villa to unwind, not to be pressured into unnecessary purchases. Such practices reflect poorly on customer service and create unnecessary stress for guests looking for peace of mind.

If you’re considering staying at this villa, be prepared for unexpected and unusual policies that might affect your experience. Consider this carefully if you value your comfort and freedom during your stay.

Worst place ever. Poor customer service. Cant recommend for anyone. Aggressive staff they ask service charges also without giving any service for us.we have to ask every single plate , glasses and tissues also, they even dont know that they have to surve it for customers.I think they even dont know that they are running a restaurant.This is the worst experience in my entire life.

1. This place is NOT Unawatuna!!! It is 4 km from this Villa! The nearest beach 1.5 km Magalle (surf point)! 2. This is not hotel, GUESTHOUSE!! 3. Don't have hot water 4. Very dark room! And you can hear everything, what happen outside, bad noise insulation 5. Don't have restaurant or bar!!! 6. Service room 24/7 - it's lie!!! Need to ask a few times to clean the room! Rooms good, but dirty! 
This place is not worth the money spent!!!

Information on web sites is very different from reality!!!!!

Arrived to be told our booking was cancelled.  All very strange but owner said we could stay for a bit but had booked our room out as part of a large group later in our booking (although his story kept changing).  We stayed first night (was offered smaller darker room than we had booked even though room we had booked was empty when we arrived) but got little sleep as the rooms are within a couple of metres of a very busy (expressway on-ramp) road.  Unfort. the garden wall or room at top of property aren't enough to dimish the feeling that a large truck was about to enter the room all night!  We decided to cut our losses & find other accommodation to get some sleep and find breakfast which was included with the room rate but never eventuated.  The owner turned a bit nasty and wanted more money (even though he'd (?) cancelled our booking and we had paid more than what was due for the accommodation) and then had another go at us trying to totally rip us off with using a taxi to leave.  Worst experience in Sri Lanka.  So many other wonderful hotels around instead.

Dodgey owner, not worth the hassle

Bad place to visit. Worst customer service. Not a reliable place. Owner changes food & beverage prices & other charges as he thinks. Food taste so bad, yet they charge a unreasonable prices.

Never going to visit this place again!!

Worst food ever and also it was very late without any busy .we had to go out at 10.30 as the guy said they have to shut the restaurant because he wants to come in the morning too.bad experience.not to go there .
