Melia Valencia

We stayed in a Level Supreme Junior Suite and the room was amazing: Spacious living room with sofa bed, desk, coffee machine and mini-bar/fridge. We then had our own separate bedroom with a seating area and floor to ceiling windows with views over the city from a high floor. This room also has two bathrooms - one off the hallway with a toilet, and another larger one off the bedroom with shower and bath- it is a great room for a family. My only complaint about this room is that ours had an interconnecting door with the room next door and we found that we could hear the guests in the next room speaking, watching TV, playing music and moving around - I'm not sure why it was designed this way, but at one point I considered asking to change rooms because of the loud late night noise coming from the room next door. They were just playing music and having a good time, but we were travelling with small children and because of this internal door, the noise from next door could be heard throughout our entire room at 1am - and I would assume they can hear all of our noise too. If you have booked this room type, it might be worth asking the hotel if there are any without these doors. Aside from this though, the room is excellent and worth the money. The outdoor pool looks small for the size of the hotel, but it's actually fine - we never struggled to find beds/seats, and we were able to get in the pool with small children during the morning, afternoon and evenings. There is also an outdoor pool bar providing drinks and foods to guests on the loungers. The hotel has a very large lobby area with a bar that opens late and serves food. Breakfast was very well organised each morning with a large selection of hot and cold food available and a separate seating area for The Level customers. The Level lounge is on the 26th floor and has views all over Valencia, as well as two outdoor terraces. It offers free sandwiches, fruit, nuts, ham and cheese as well as drinks (alcoholic included) to Level customers. There is also a happy hour between 7pm-8pm where you can get spirits. The staff at the Melia are incredible. We received excellent customer service throughout the entirety of our stay, we were always received with a smile and they really couldn't do more for you. I have to make a special mention to a few staff members who really went the extra mile to look after us during our stay- Nacho in the Oval Bar looked after us most evenings while we entertained the kids with games and had a few drinks and snacks- he was very attentive, friendly and provided a great service. Andrea in the Level was also great - she went out of her way to come and speak to our kids any time we were there, asked us about our day and plans and provided recommendations and went into the kitchen to get them treats. And finally Carles at reception - again he was extremely attentive, always happy to help and chat, and was very helpful with all of our bags on the last day. All of this really made our stay very memorable. Overall, we had a great time at the Melia Valencia- and we would definitely recommend it as a great place to stay for families.
