Hostal Tamonante

Great choice to discover the island of Fuerteventura, for its location, not too far from north and from south, and for the beautiful town of Gran Tarajal. Strongly suggested for people who don't like too much tourists and want to dive in true inhabitants life. Very quite and relaxing place. The hostal is cheap but very clean and has all the basic services.

The hostel is located in a very nice little town, close to the beach, shops and near a large parking. It is necessary to write an email with arrival time in advance. Room was clean, spacious... I recommend.

We stayed at this hostal for a one-night getaway and was adequate for our needs. The reception area is not staffed so it was necessary to ring the number on the door. We only waited for 5 minutes before someone arrived to check us in.The rooms were fairly basic, but very clean and there were a few nice touches like a mini fridge and a coffee maker in the room, along with a tv. Own private bathroom with shower.The only downside was that our room faced the road so there was quite a bit of traffic noise - not good if you are a light sleeper.

My partner and I have stayed here once before, and even though it's very basic, it's clean, the beds are comfortable, and the 6 rooms are all en suite, with towels and small items of toiletries, and with the use of a fridge and a TV included in the price, which you don't get in many hostels. I'd say it was more a budget hotel than a hostel and good for the price. We paid by Credit Card the last time we stayed here, but the woman in charge this time did not have the facility, so we were forced to pay in cash, (in full), on our arrival, which wiped out all our Euros on the first day of our holiday, so we had to go and draw out more from an ATM and the exchange rate was not as good as in the UK, so this is something to be aware of.

There are very few options on where to stay here. Little money has been spent on maintenance and the room was damp and dingy. We had booked and paid for 3 nights but left after 2

Very basic but good for the price

The are few places to stay in Gran Tarajal. Which is a same as it easily the nicest town in FV. A real place not full of tourists with a lovely sheltered beach and loads of food/drink options.
The Hostal is fine for a couple of nights but you may need earplugs if you have sensitive ears as its on a busy side street and the building itself conducts ever scrape of a chair and door closing very well. But don't miss Gran Tarajal because of this!

There are some key values which are nok: no reception, you had to make a telephone call and then wait for someone to  arrive. The beds are very bad. When switching on the TV, all electricity shut down, so no TV (?). No wi-fi available. Batroom was only 3m2.
