Hotel Dona Carmen

Hotel Dona Carmen,TordesIllas , is in a great location, easy access when en route from Spain to Portugal, walking distance of the town and with a lovely terrace overlooking the river. Our room had french doors with balcony, also overlooking the river, and was light and airy with soft neutral colours. Superb modern bathroom, (we appreciated the travel pack with toothpaste, toothbrush, comb etc: a thoughtful touch). The bathroom was lovely with a huge shower and the bed comfortable with good quality bed linen. We chose the half board option and the three course lunch with wine offered a good choice, great value for money and we ate very well. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. With reference to the previous reviewer, more Premier Inn standard than Travel Lodge, I would say, and they rarely provide a room with a view!. When we next travel from Spain to Portugal we will return.
