Absolutely fabulous. A lovely hotel in a great location. The rooms are spotlessly clean with comfy beds, pristine linens and towels. Friendly welcoming staff, a great find in the centre of town.  Bars, restaurants, marina and beach all on the doorstep. Just perfect.

We arrived very early on Saturday morning (it was supposed to be around 2am but worked out to be 3am due to a delay at EMA), when we arrived there was a note in the door for me to call a number and the owner, a lovely lady answered and said she would come down to let us in. She was not bothered by the time and told us to go up to bed and we could check in officially when we woke. We were very grateful of a smiley face.
The room was small but adequate and very clean, a good firm double mattress (not two singles pushed together), a clean bathroom with lovely Hierbas shower gel and shampoo minatures, and a cord to hang wet bathing costumes between the window and shutters. We stayed on the 3rd floor in room 302. It overlooks the buildings centre courtyard. It is worth noting that Hostel Rey is a hostel and has both private and shared bathrooms.
The location is excellent and is at the top of the main promenade behind the town hall, very close to the restaurant street and within 5mins walking to the beach. 
We had a late flight on Saturday and so we didn't need to leave Santa Eulalia until 6pm. We left our luggage with the owner and then she left towels in the shared bathroom for us so we could shower and change before returning to the airport.
It was an excellent stay and I would recommend if you are happy with basics and no frills. When all you need is a good bed, lovely service, clean and location, then I would recommend it. It is ideal for couples but not for families with young children. There is no lift so something to keep in mind if you aren't able with stairs.
What could had made it more comfortable would have been two separate pillows on the bed. Instead we had a full width bolster and as we sleep very differently we did keep waking eachother up. Separate pillows would have made for a more sound sleep. The towels are also rough and after a day on sunbathing were quite scratchy on their first use. The more you use them the softer they got, but then if you want them changing you are back to rough again.

This was a perfect location for Santa Eulalia. The WiFi worked well. Bed was comfortable and room was clean with small but nice balcony. Would recommend for convenience. The owner was friendly. We had a late check in which worked well via a quick phone call. It is right behind the Town Hall so very convenient.

The owner is great to talk to about anything you would want to explore around, or your stay in the hotel.

We had a lovely stay at Hostal Rey. It's very rare to spend a week in a hotel and not have a single complaint about anything, but that's how it was. And I say hotel deliberately - forget your image of a hostel – this is a hotel at hostel prices. 

We had a twin room. Everything worked – shower, air conditioning, wifi, fridge. Everything was clean. Everything was checked and renewed daily as necessary. It was very quiet and peaceful, day and night – and this is right in the Centre of Santa Eulalia. Close the window and not a sound enters the room.

Of course, this beautiful town is quiet and peaceful in its character anyway, though simultaneously lively with excellent restaurants and bars. (Hostal Rey, by the way, is twenty metres from the corner of Carrer de Sant Vicent, which we called "Restaurant Street" – lots of really good eating places, including a French place (Le 27) which is really top class.)

The lady who owns/runs the place is very pleasant and helpful, as are all the staff – you get a smile and a "Buenos Dias" every time you come and go. 

We were delighted with our stay and recommend it highly.

We have Just spent 9 nights at this lovely place ,this is the first time we have stopped at an hostal,and wanted to say we are very glad we stop here ,I know it was room only ,but we have stopped in 4 star hotel rooms and this place was far better , it was clean, safe and a good size ,shower was lovely and hot ,and fresh clean towels and bedding most days or every day if you wanted them ,we took a kettle and toaster,which suited wanted we wanted ,the view from our room 207 was grea it was a sea and town view ,sat on the balcony having a glass of wine and watching the world go by was great ,and at night the square below comes alive ,not to loud but alive with the people in the bars and restaurants was great. Aircon worked good ,beds comfortable ,and at the end of the day when you need to sleep close the doors ,pull the curtains  they are good black out ones and no sound or light comes in great for a good nights sleep ,if like us you have ever been put of by the name hostal ,please don't be put of by this hostal give it ago ,great location,great staff and lovely lady who owns it , she will help you  with all  you need if you ask her ,we will use this place again and will tell our friends and family how good it is thanks to you all at hostal rey
