Hotel Nadal

Stayed 27-31 October 2023. As a couple. Hotel location - great - no passing traffic and you can sit and people watch all day if you wanted from the balcony. I don't think view from rooms can be beaten in Benidorm. The most amazing sunsets. Hotel is clean and staff are great. Rooms are roomy (ours was 204 a triple room on the end) and we had LOADS of storage - wardrobe and drawers, hairdryer. Suitcase stand, safe, small fridge. Rooms cleaned every day. Towels changed and beds re-made. Rooms are dated and a little shabby around the edges (think 80's style wooden furniture) but beds are EXCEPTIONALLY comfy - really comfy mattress. I know this is going to sound weird as a plus (but we've just holidayed in Greece) but water pressure in the shower is AMAZING and lovely and hot. We had a walk in shower which was lovely and big. For us, the size of the room and the cleanliness made up for the dated style as we prefer substance over style. We took our own travel kettle and had coffee on the balcony several times a day. Seats on balcony also really comfy. There was no washing line or pegs for drying clothes. Breakfast - I had read that people said the breakfast was poor. Well, that is not true as it was more than adequate. All neatly laid out buffet style - scrambled egg, fried eggs, small sausages, bacon, x2 types of cereal, oat milk, yoghurts, some fruit, cheese, cooked meats, dried fruits, fruit juices, boiled eggs. But man oh man - the bakery section = croissants, pain au chocolate, pastries, chocolate cake, biscuits!! We also had lunch at the hotel - lovely terrace to sit at and good value for money. Pool - freezing cold and shallow but ideal for cooling off for quick dip. Our favourite nearest bar was the Stag & Pheasant - literally 30 paces from the hotel (staff very friendly). Overall - a well placed hotel, away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to the action. Ideally located for shops, some bars and restaurants with the most amazing views. You could not move from the hotel and have a good time. If you are prepared to look past the dated rooms and focus on the basics (cleanliness and location) you won't find much better for the money. A hidden gem!
