We stayed for 3 nights and were not disappointed.  Surrounded by mountains and woodland, what is there not to love.  Shower block and toilets were very clean. We ate in the restaurant which was fab and cheap.  We cannot praise the staff enough.  Thank you for a great experience.

What a great camp site. Really peaceful and a gorgeous setting nestled in the valley with the sound of the river while you sleep and the mountains above. The restaurant was great for dinner, super convenient and a really nice atmosphere. The staff were lovely and friendly and have contributed to some of the Argentinian flair in the menu. Thanks for a lovely stay!

We spent 9 night here and this campsite was incredible.  Surrounded by mountains the view was fantastic.  It was very peaceful and  spacious.  I loved hearing the owls every night and the stars were amazing.  Brilliant hot showers, great restaurant and very friendly staff.  Loads of walks from the campsite and nearby.  A piece of heaven.  Highly recommend if you want to get away from it all and immerse yourself in a wild landscape.

We stayed at El Cares Campsite for 4 nights in a wooden cabin with 2 very comfortable bunk beds (even for adults!), little table and chairs and plenty of drawers to store belongings.
The kids loved playing in the park area with lots of children from different nationalities and dunking their feet in the river and waterfall. Restaurant was excellent and offered a variety of freshly cooked food daily with fabulous views over the picos and the best wines all at a very reasonable price. Plenty of walks straight from the campsite or just a short drive away, enjoyable for young children and adults alike and recommended on site. The shop was well stocked with essentials (including fresh bread and fruits, cured meats and cheeses) which enabled us to take a picnic with is on our walks every day. Facilities were very clean with great showers. Very quiet and peaceful at nights. Big shout out to all the staff who were all very friendly and helpful despite being super busy. We even picked up a couple of cool tshirts as a souvenir. Would highly recommend and hope to be back. Thank you for a great stay! ❤️

Gorgeous scenery, quiet, clean facilities, wonderful shower!!  We ate at the restaurant both nights we camped and the food was FABULOUS!!  We had fun joking with the waitress and the cooks.  The bread and croissants we ordered for breakfast were also delicious.  The staff checking us in was very helpful and friendly.

We spent a week camping here on a tour in Northern Spain in October 2019. The site is located perfectly in the Picos de Europa surrounded by mountains and forest, just outside Santa Marina de Valdeón. There is loads of walking from the campsite and the staff have loads of recommendations, instructions and maps. These range from gentle walks down the valley to as hard as you want through the hills and mountains.

The campsite has a small shop and fresh bread can be ordered at the bar. The toilets and showers were clean with great showers and washing facilities. 

The bar and restaurant was warm and welcoming on cool October evenings and the food and hospitality were excellent. The food is restaurant quality and we ate there several times, highly recommended.

Oh and don’t miss the local Valdeón cheeses, world renowned and delicious.

An incredibly beautiful setting, peaceful and with lots to do in the surrounding area. The campsite itself was perfect-clean toilets, a great restaurant open till late and the most attentive,hard working and helpful staff I've ever come across. Nothing is too much for them and they always have a smile on their faces. 

This is a lovely campsite with fabulous views. It feels very rural and relaxed. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and there is good info on hikes and other things to do in the area. The daily stretching class is an unexpected plus point! There is also a lovely little waterfall which is a great way to cool off in hot weather. The feel here is very much family/ outdoor adventure types. In general I would say quieter than other Spanish campsites and more of a feeling of space, although still quite packed in when we visited in busy season. There were a few loud people at night which was a shame, particularly one large group barbecuing down by the river and shouting until well after midnight. I would imagine this is the exception though as everyone else was tucked up in bed by midnight. 
This is a fantastic location for hiking the Cares gorges and multiple other walks, long and short, low level and high mountain. If one thing could be improved it would be to remind people of the quiet hours, this would help maintain the peaceful vibe.

Loved this site which had excellent access to the mountains and Cares Gorge. Good shop, cosy bar with pretty good food and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only improvement would be keeping the toilet block a bit cleaner.  The site got busy at the weekend so its worth getting there early for a good pitch.

This is a lovely tranquil campsite in a stunning location surrounded by mountains. The campsite is quite remote, so we were surprised to find that the staff spoke good English. They were all extremely friendly and helpful and took time to show us some great hiking routes. There's a selection of pitches on a number of terraces as well as some basic camping huts. We were glad we stayed in a hut as it gets quite cold at night, and we also had thunderstorms each night. The bar/restaurant has a great atmosphere and serves good quality local food at a reasonable price. It also stocks a range of quality craft beers. Wi-Fi is available at the bar, but speeds are slow. There's also a site shop which stocks basic needs and where you can order fresh bread for the next day. All in all, a great base for exploring the Picos.
