Resch  Portomarin from O’Cebreiro is likely one of the most demanding stages of El Camino Francés. But the destiny deserves the effort. Specially if you are there hosted by Ruben and Joana. In their small but beautiful and comfortable hotel

El Padrino is a small classy boutique hotel. The rooms are smallish but very modern with good storage. Staff are very good. Breakfast is available in the morning. Washing machine and dryer are available. In addition to rooms on the second floor is a deck with nice outdoor seating and a hot tub. The theme throughout in “The Godfather” movie. Great place to stay and get a good night’s sleep.

We loved this place. From the friendly welcome to the mandarin oranges; water and chocolates left in your room! There was tea/coffee 24/7 and handy laundry facilities.The roof terrace with hot tub was super and very welcoming on a hot day after our walk.The whole place was kept so clean and was smartly presented throughout. Breakfast was also provided and was good. It is in a great location in a lovely village. We had dinner in O Mirador recommended by guest house and we enjoyed the meal. Just a few wee tips more spoons and bowls were needed for breakfast and it would be handy to know how to use shutters in bedroom to make room darker. Would highly recommend El Padrino it was fab.

We stayed in this hotel while doing the Camino. Everything is very clean and the room had a very comfortable bed. The breakfast is good. The nightly rate is reasonable.

There is a small roof garden with some sun loungers and a hot tub. The hotel has only about 6 rooms in the hotel so this area was never busy. Both girls on reception were friendly and helpful.

The hotel is on a quiet street but close to the centre of the town. There are several restaurants nearby doing the Camino menus for 9 or 10 euros with 3 courses and a drink.

I can highly recommend this hotel. We had an enjoyable 2 night stay.

Guest House El Padrino was very easy to find. The receptionist at check-in, and again at breakfast and check-out, was very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The other receptionist later in the evening was also very pleasant, friendly and helpful. My bike was stored securely overnight. The room was of a decent size. The bed was comfortable. The shower was good. 
Breakfast in the hotel was very good and included gluten-free cereal and bread.
I had no complaints.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel in May whilst walking the Camino. Situated about 1 kilometre off the Camino trail in the middle of town just near the Main Street and opposite a lovely park, it was well worth the walk as this is a fabulous hotel. It is also in a very quiet location.

Joanna and Lusia were our hosts, spoke excellent English and we were warmly welcomed. Although we got there at lunch time, our rooms were ready. There are only six rooms in this hotel and they are full pretty well every night.

The hotel is a modern hotel and the reception area is warm and bright. Our room was situated upstairs and it was big, clean, comfortable and attractive. We had a queen bed and a small bathroom type set up in the corner of the room with a separate toilet and shower and wash basin against the wall. There was a wardrobe, with shelves and hanging space, a desk and chair and a table. Plenty of power points, air conditioning and bar heating. The bed was comfortable as well.

Two bottles of water, 2 apples and 2 chocolates were provided in our room which was a nice touch.

I would like to highlight the shower here.....the best shower we had anywhere in Spain. One of those rain shower type heads......Strong, hot and most enjoyable.

Breakfast was included in the room price and included cereal, cold meats and cheese, breads, toast, fruit, muesli bars, yoghurt, biscuits, juice, tea and coffee. They have a lovely dining room. And there is also a laundry available to use on site.

Wifi was strong, quick and reliable. 

One of the nicer places to stay if you are walking the Camino. A little more expensive than some of the other hotels but well worth it.

Highly recommend

This is a small establishment with 6 rooms. Very well designed rooms with heating and air conditioning that work. Nice views from every room we saw. The staff are amiable and helpful. Breakfast is nice. There is a nice restaurant within 10 minutes walk they also own. The details are provided if you ask.

One of the most charming places we've been to. Great location in the village, big modern room with excellant shower. Very clean. Nice staff, excellant breakfast, laundry facilities. Oh, and a jacuzzi! How can we do the Camino without it?
Highly recommended

We stayed at Guest House El Padrino for one night while on the Camino de Santiago.  Overall, it is a nice place to stay.  Our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable.  Laundry and a rooftop terrace are bonuses for this place.  The breakfast was simple but adequate and included in the price.  

Two minor inconveniences:  We had a ground floor room and there really are no privacy curtains or blinds.  The sheer curtains they have are not adequate.  Also, it's a bit off the Camino path and after a long day of walking, you don't want to walk more than you have to.

But overall, I liked staying at Guest House El Padrino and would consider staying there again in the future.
