Apartamentos Rurales La Solana

This is a relatively new house built in the old traditional style with tile floors, brick archways, and wood ceiling beams. There's a large, wonderful garden in the back filled with nature and great for relaxing in the afternoon sun. It includes a swimming pool too, but was closed during our visit in early May. There's a nice inner courtyard painted white and hung with old farm implements. Lots of antiques lie around in the main hallway. Despite its location on the edge of town, it actually feels like you're staying in the countryside. The kitchen was well-equipped but could have used a few more utensils since we do cook our dinners each night. The WiFi worked great. The friendly owner speaks English. The best room is on the second floor and overlooks the back garden. Our front ground floor apartment, while fine, had only two small windows at each end which made the interior a little dark. There's no parking on site, but there are some parking spaces in a nearby plaza (and around the wonderful old church too). The owner doesn't live on site so you will have to call him when you arrive. The whole place has a nice, comfy, very traditional feel and we can definitely recommend it. The best way to drive here is to set your navigator for the corner of Calle los Naranjos and Calle Molinos. Take a left and drive up Calle Molinos. Keep going straight. This street ends when you reach a small plaza. Turn left here on Calle Charca (it's hard to see the street sign coming this way). Drive a short distance. When this street ends, turn left on Calle Munoz Torrero. Here you will find some parking spots in a small plaza. The apartment is 50 meters down this narrow street on the left side. We are suggesting this route from our (painful) experience. Our navigator took us to the apartment through the center of town which is a confusing network of very narrow, and often, one-way streets. Believe us, you will want to avoid going this way. The route we described circles the bottom of town on larger roads and then cuts in at the last moment.
