Apartamentos Arco Iris

My family (2 parents, 2 kids aged 9 and 7) spent 2 weeks in Arco Iris apartment number 5. We absolutely loved it! First impressions upon arrival (late at night due to flight timing) was of a well-maintained complex. This turned out to be true - the apartment was well-appointed, well-looked after and spacious. There are three bedrooms (one double, one twin and one with bunk beds), a smallish kitchen, a dining area and a living area, plus a balcony that overlooks the pool on one side and the view of the resort and bay on two sides. The view - what a view! It is possibly the best view of Arenal d'en Castell in the whole resort. And it just pours into the apartment from all aspects, all the time. Expansive views of the bay, the resort and the sea and distant lighthouse. One of my favourite activities of the holiday was to simply stand on the balcony and take it in. There were boats and yachts of all sorts constantly in and out of the bay. From pretty much any point on the beach or many of the restaurants in the town you could see the Arco Iris apartments - it is one of those places you usually look at from afar and think "that must be a great place to stay". The complex of 5 apartments is well-situated, in a mostly quiet residential area slightly away from the main resort, but within easy walking distance of a supermarket, the beach and restaurants. There are quite a few steps and slopes to conquer but we never hired a car at all and walked everywhere, including to the water park at the Marina Parc hotel. The owners/manager were very responsive to requests (by e-mail, SMS and phone call) and were happy to secure our luggage on the last day when we had to check out early but had a late flight (we took a bus to Mahon for the day, then came back to collect luggage and transfer to the airport). The pool is fairly small but perfectly adequate for cooling and a little swimming, plus plenty of child play (it goes from around 1.0m to 2.1m deep). It was cleaned twice a week whilst we were there, plus the gardens were tended at least twice. The overall appearance of the apartments was fresh, clean and well-maintained and everything worked as it should. We were very, very happy with the apartment, the location and the holiday overall. We hope to go back.
