156 reviewsEn route from Santander to Cascais in Portugal stopped overnight here. You will never come across this place by accident, it has to be by word of mouth or as we did it, on the net. What a gem of a place! It seems to be in the middle of nowhere and is nothing less than a retreat. A beautiful hotel, not small, clean and full of old character with statues of bulls and bull heads on walls so must be linked to a bull fighter you would think, function room after function room seemingly being unused at every corner and beautifully kept grounds. Waiters in lovely tunics, a lovely outside restaurant area, very cheap to eat and drink surprisingly, two pools, lovely bedroom with two double beds together and a lovely English breakfast and all for 43 euros for bed only with 13 euros additional for breakfast!! Thankfully pets are not allowed in hotel, as it should be! Was a lovely experience that came out of nowhere and hope to stay again if travelling through Spain.

At the cottage
