Hotel Avenida

I had intended to spend the night in Andorra, but the traffic and impossible parking conditions sent me back to Seu d'Urgell (note: the hotel is in Seu d'Urgell, in the PROVINCE of Lleida, not in the CITY of Lleida, as the address given in the listing might lead you to believe), where I found the "Avenida". The hotel is located on Pau Claris, 24, within easy walking distance of the Cathedral and the old town. I found on street free parking on a nearby side street (exit hotel, turn left, cross Pau Claris, and continue down that side street. It's a one-way street and there is parking on both sides.). I was given a large room with two twin beds with the usual double doors that overlooked the street. The bed was comfortable, aside from the fact that a standard twin is just too short for my long legs. Furnishings were fine and everything was very clean. The bathroom was fine, and contained the room's crown jewel: a hand held shower that works perfectly. There is a vertical safety bar on the end wall, and this bar serves as the mount for the shower head. The shower mount slides up and down on the bar, and this allows you to position it vertically to match your height. It also swivels back and allows you to adjust direction of the water flow. Shower curtain is high and very little water made it onto the floor. The room charge was 38 euros, a bit high for one person. I give the place a five in all the categories and hope that you will add the hotel to the website.
