Oasis Tamarindo I

Oasis Tamarindo was originally built as an hotel, and is located in lush well-maintained grounds with 3 pools, one for children, It is now fully converted to self-catering apartments which are privately owned, then rented out via home rental sites or letting agencies. Our ground floor apartment was spacious, but I agree with another contributor that the bathroom size, compared with the kitchen area is very odd. The walls between apartments are extremely thin, and windows and doors have huge gaps around the frames. The relatively poor weather of January 2019 was difficult to keep outside. In Summer months, this wouldn't be a problem, however. Around the pools are numerous sun beds but most of these have at least one broken slat in the base. The pool area is well maintained, but the older paving slabs are badly broken and might cause a trip hazard. Attached to the complex are a number of cafes, Secreto del Sur is particularly notable for the fabulous ice creams and sorbets - not to be missed. Bear in mind that Fuerteventura actually translates into 'strong wind'. This is fantastic for all the various surfers who travel here in numbers, but might not be your cup of tea if you prefer to sit around the pool, or at the beach to sunbathe.
