Casa rural 3. Los castañuelos

Myself partner & 15 year old son stayed here for 4 nights beginning of August and we had a very relaxing time. You need a car !!! It's up a mountain and walkable to a pub/ restaurant but that's about it, it's situated down a dirty track . Continental breakfast no hot food and cakes for breakfast home made but not our thing but looked nice :) Lodgings hot as no Aircon.... main house separate from the Lodgings so cannot use the kitchen and the fridge in the rooms can only hold a few cans...that's the down side as being so remote being able to make a sandwich would have been a bonus but fridge to small :( Pool not huge but good to dip in after a hot day in Granada which is a way away. Views spectacular. Not given much info regarding local towns ect by hosts when arriving which is a shame but Pipa English is limited so that maybe why. The local town shuts down for siesta and we struggled to find food in the day on the 1st day which led to a grumpy teenage son. A lot of flys around which are annoying due to the nearby lake which you cannot swim in or kayak on. Lots of farmers dogs live close which on a full moon do not stop barking all night & it feels like they are in your room with you ! Nothing the owners can do about that though. Owners own dogs lovely and take camp in your room. But the views are the best thing and the seclusion of the property which we enjoyed :)
