Monasterio De Aciveiro Hotel Pontevedra

Those 12th century monks wanted to be alone!  This property is still pretty isolated. I was with a group and it was part of our tour, or I never would have thought of staying here.    This is a atmospheric historic property (12th century!) with lovely public areas.  The rooms are nice and the bathrooms are well equipped.    Water pressure is very good, and there is plenty of hot water.  I had room #7 on the second level and it was average in size.   It had twin beds. The bathroom was nice. I don’t think there is a bar in the hotel. So if you’d like a pre-dinner drink, you might want to bring your own. I enjoyed exploring the hotel.  There is a bit of a museum lining the halls on the ground floor.  The courtyard is lit at night - which is lovely. The church next door is a working parish church. If it is closed, the receptionist can open it for you.   It has some interesting architectural details. Wi fi was a bit unstable and during the night there was a storm, so some rooms lost power.   The receptionist was able to put power back on as soon as she knew which rooms were out.
