We stayed in four Paradores during our recent trip. Tui was the smallest of the four properties. It was also the one that provided the most intimate setting – a true advertising what a country inn(parador/pousada) can be like. The Tui parador overlooks the Minho river and Valenca in Portugal. It was a good base for side trips to Castro Santa Trega and a slew of picturesque places near the border in Portugal. A special experience for us was driving across the old bridge into Portugal several times – North American drivers aren’t used to such road tolerances! We enjoyed a delicious seafood dinner at the restaurant and a very good breakfast. Staff was very attentive.
