39 reviewsSimply nothing to fault. Communication was handled within literally hours and sometimes even minutes. Due to landing in Barcelona airport, and to make matters worse, with a delayed flight, we ended up arriving at around 2am. Luckily the apartments are not equipped with old-fashioned keys; but by electronic locks which require a keycode. That was provided 24 hours before our arrival; and worked a treat right first time. Upon entering, we found a very pleasantly cool apartment with brand new furniture, mostly top-notch appliances and comfortable beds and pillows. The mattresses are hard, but never gave me back-ache and are pleasantly supportive and thick - not like the usual cheap, wafer-thin fare which, from what I read, seems to be very common all over Spain. The balcony is pelasantly big and can easily handle 6 people having breakfast or a nice late chill. The appliances were very modern and more than adequate; except the washing machine which, although effective and perfectly functional, lacks a water heater and is quite noisy during the spin cycle. It woke me up twice with a fright in fact. The rest are more than you could ever require; the microwave, the oven, the hob (induction!) as well as the dishwasher and coffee-machine are all up to and beyond the expected standard. There's even a toaster, cutlery for 6 (includung cooking utensils), pans and a saucepan. On the ample sink we found a brand new scourring sponge, spare garbage bag, cleaning rag and dish soap; all in a pack. There may be no laundry dryer; but there's a clothes-line which fits nicely in the balcony. But the real ace up this place's sleeve is the cleanliness. Not a grain of dust anywhere and defintely no fear of insects. On the 7th day of our stay, we were informed that cleaning staff will be coming over and that's testament to Voralmar's dedication to cleanliness upkeep which I value alot. The pool area was nice and cool, and the pool itself clean and more than adequately-sized for the number of people present - although admittedly it was quite cold in September and not really swimming-season. The location couldn't be better: literally metres away from the beach, with so many restaurants and shops within 5 kilometres. Public transport is also very easy to use, with the closest bus stop just 20 metres away; and it can take you to beautiful close villages like Salou and La Pineda within minutes. One small gripe we had was not with the residence itself; but the city in general. Street cleanliness is far from the best; with certain spots literally stinking of thrash; and a stench of sewage easily pervades in the air especially after it rains. This may have nothing to do directly with Voralmar; but we did notice that turning the A/C on can easily pick up the sewage stench and throw it inside the apartment, which is a shame. As I said, I want to stress this has nothing to do with the apartment itself. So much so that if I were to return to Cambrils or Salou I wouldn't think twice about staying again at Voralmar.
