Casa Matilda Bed and Breakfast

My wife and I chose to spend our wildcard day in our Catalunya road trip at this B&B largely due to its glittering TripAdvisor reviews, so we were quite certain that we would be asked to leave a review right before we left. That we weren’t was just the final cherry on the cake to cap off a marvelous stay. The rooms were ornately furnished and decorated, with ample portable heating and lots of space. The owner, Leo, made us feel absolutely at home, and we caught him baking muffins with his daughter in the evening - which were served fresh the next day at breakfast. Breakfast was an impeccable experience in itself, but it was the overall hospitality that made this an experience we would never forget. The only downside, if at all - the location is what it is. That said, it was a perfect stopover for an exploration of the medieval villages in the area - we followed Leo’s advice, explored the towns of Monells, Madremanya and Pubol, and were not disappointed a single bit. Going in autumn, most F&B options were unavailable, so we had to go to neighboring Bisbal for groceries and refreshment.
