HM Tropical Hotel

I spent 5 nights at this hotel with my 14yr old grandaughter. We loved the hotel, very modern and very clean. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was partial sea view (612), and it was lovely, and room service every day very good. In the room we had Tea/coffee facilities, hair dryer, shower gel, and shampoo. There are frosted glass panels around the bathroom area, perhaps not everyone’s choice but we didn’t find it a problem. Small fridge but adequate to store cold water bottles and white wine purchased from the supermarket opposite. Nice balcony and we could see the sea and activity on the high-street at the hotel entrance. Breakfast was lovely, nice welcome from Carlos and helpful waiter Juann, plenty of choice and great for my grandaughter as she is gluten free and they provided her with bread baguette, croissants and cake each morning. Tip: take your own tea bags!! The biggest disappointment was the lack of Sunbeds around the pool, and mostly Germans, who were up at 6am to claim their beds!!! It really needed monitoring because we saw some beds not in use for hours whilst they went to the beach, shopping or back to their rooms. We never got a sunbed all week until very late one afternoon, however we sat on chairs and made use of the pool at some point most days after being on the beach. The rooftop area is lovely and we enjoyed a dip in the small but cute pool but it could be a bit breezy!! The beach was fab, we had a mix of sea weather, 2 days of high waves which we enjoyed but you could feel the pull of the current so not brill for very young ones. The other days it was calm and very pleasant. The beach is perfect and we paid 18 euros a day for the “cheaper” sunbeds (2) and one brolly as you need shade. Don’t get caught with the 60euro beds unless you can afford it. Lots of folk sat on their own towels and bought a brolly from the shop opposite for about 12 euros. Plenty of restaurants and shops. Great train for 1.5 hours costing 11 euros for us 2, you can get off once and explore around the beaches or shops at a point you choose and hop back on again later. Tip: Looking at the beach if you get on the train travelling to the left you will arrive at a very hot spot for night life and good shops but lots of young, drunk people around, so be careful. We would definitely stay here again, and TUI was a great travel agent too.
