Hotel La Piqueta

Stayed here one night whilst walking through the area. Manager [?owner] was most helpful though only spoke Spanish. But i suppose if you are getting to explore these mountain villages you will have a little of the language, and a little goes a long way with these friendly people. The unimposing hotel is on a fairly quiet street of this quiet village. Basic reception area with lifts to the two floors of rooms. The bedroom was spacious, clean and comfortable. Good bathroom with clean towels, soaps etc Lots of hot water for bath or shower. Usual busy Spanish bar used by locals which gives the hotel some atmosphere. The restaurant is large. Unfortunately when I was there, out of season, I was the only one dining so felt a bit lacking in ambiance. Good choice of menu. The portions of food were large by normal standards, and the quality good but not special. No complaints. The manager put himself out of his way to get me an early morning start. Across the road is a pleasant bar with tapas run by the same people. A good base to explore this quiet mountainous area. The village has all the basic requirements. A car would be necessary for visiting.
