Hotel Marina Badalona

We stayed at Hotel Sallés Marina Badalona for four nights as part of a family road trip, using it as our base to explore Barcelona. We specifically wanted somewhere outside the city that would be quieter, near the beach, but still with easy access to public transport—and this hotel ticked all the boxes. Our room (1018) was on the 10th floor and had stunning floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views—beach to the left, marina to the right. The bed was enormous (effectively two doubles joined together), very comfortable, and the room was air-conditioned, which made for restful nights. The bathroom was a standout feature. The shower also had floor-to-ceiling glass with those same beautiful views over the beach and marina. There is a frosted privacy panel, but it still feels quite bold—worth noting for the modest! Our teenage kids had a separate room, which was smaller but still very comfortable and had a lovely view over the marina. It worked really well for giving everyone their own space while staying close by. The nearest metro stop, Gorg Station, was about a 15-minute walk away (turn right out of reception, cross the red bridge, then head left). It gave us direct access to central Barcelona—just 15 minutes to La Sagrada Familia. Once the ongoing development around the marina is finished, we expect that walk to shorten and improve significantly. Currently, the surrounding area is a bit sparse, but the beach is lovely, and there are a few restaurants and a large supermarket nearby. Closer to Gorg station, there’s a pleasant pedestrianised area lined with cafés and bars. Inside the hotel, the reception is bright and spacious, and the hallways wide. We especially enjoyed the rooftop infinity pool and bar area—great for relaxing after a day exploring. The underground parking was very secure, which we appreciated travelling in our VW Transporter. It’s worth mentioning that there’s no direct internal access from the car park to the hotel—you exit the car park and then re-enter via the main reception. Breakfast was a highlight of our stay. A broad and generous buffet included cooked options, salads, fresh fruit, pastries, yoghurts, cereals—and even a glass of Cava if you fancy it. The only thing missing (according to my wife) was mushrooms! We’re really looking forward to seeing how the marina area develops. It has the potential to be a brilliant location for a Barcelona stay—already quiet, scenic, and comfortable, and only getting better.
