Mac Puerto Marina Benalmadena

Lovely hotel, you are 5 mins from everything, beach, marina, shops. On arrival we were welcomed with a glass of cava. Hotel clientele is mainly over 60’s, the rooms are large, very clean, and have a fridge with complimentary drinks and safe (you have to pay for the safe). Pool towels are provided and can be changed throughout the day. The food is lovely, plenty of choice. If you are half board you have to chose either an 6.30 or 8pm dinner service and you have the same table for dinner every night. At breakfast you can sit wherever you like. All staff are very friendly and helpful. I did not visit the spa as you have to wear a swimming hat in the indoor pool. The gym is very small and can accommodate only 3 people. The gym and spa have to be pre booked. There seemed to be a shortage of staff at the pool bar and evening bar during the entertainment so wait times to be served were quite long. The entertainment was a bit hit and miss, but mostly enjoyable. There are signs saying you cannot reserve sun beds for more than 30 mins however I never saw this enforced. There was the same couple every day who had reserved sun beds very early and never got to them until at least 11.30. The pool opens at 10am and most of the sun beds are taken or reserved by then, the life guard seems to be in charge of the sun beds but they do not start until 10 am so cannot enforce this early reserving of the sun beds. Perhaps this needs to be readdressed. Overall a great stay in a fabulous area.
