Nice place to stay for hiking or biking thru via verde. Very nice staff and clean and new apartments with pool. The price is very reasonable and they have also a good restaurant. Only a little thing I dont like: there are a fence sorrounding the bungalows, bad sensation..:(

I was here for a week with a group of women and was touched by the hospitaliry of Thomas, the owner, and his lively wife. Beautiful place, nice staff. Small town nearby were you can enjoy local culture.

This hotel is just outside town, still easy walking distance, near the river and set in pleasant gardens.  I can imagine how it may be lovely in high summer, with the pool open and the garden in bloom, and with guests in residence, a restaurant open, etc.  When we visited in late September, the pool was closed (although weather was hot - we were so disappointed), and so was the restaurant.  The owner received us personally and was helpful, although not perhaps the friendliest person.  We were on our bikes and concerned about "finding dinner" - there was no offer to "run us into town" or get a cab for us, we were clearly on our own.  He did suggest a restaurant but it was the worst food of our trip (still, could be the best in this town?).  Breakfast was pretty basic.  The rooms are in rather institutional concrete blocks, while the owner and his family live in the much more charming "antique station" building.  Even the breakfast is in a sort of outbuilding.  So I felt the name is a little bit of a cheat - I had envisioned a historic property but it's a bit like being put in a tent in the backyard of the castle!  All in all, it was OK for one night but I wouldn't particularly recommend either this hotel or this town.  There was a lively and attractive town square but that was about it.  Most of the other towns we visited in the area were much more appealing. (ps - there is a sport airport RIGHT next door! tiny planes, so it was sort of interesting and not really a noise problem.  But the planes do fly right over)

I have mixed views about this place. 

The rooms are in a block set apart from the main building. They are simply furnished, but clean and attractively decorated. The pool is of a good size and I was sorry not to have had more time to enjoy it. This was our own fault as we arrived later than we had planned. Despite our late arrival, our host was pleasant and welcoming. The hotel was not serving food that night which could have been a problem as we were on bikes. However, our host was happy to run us into town and recommended a couple of places to eat.

On the down side, the hot water was a bit erratic for showering and the breakfast in the morning was not up to much. The sign posting for the hotel could also be improved and we ended up taking a long detour round the town before we found the place. 

While the hotel offers a quiet and reasonably comfortable night's stay, I tend to concur with the view that it is somewhat overpriced.

Pluses and minuses

The stay was pleasant. All in all simple and reasonable for the price.
Cool rooms and clean sheets.
Breakfast was delicious with fresh eggs, fresh fruit salad and all other standard items. I didn't miss anything.
The location was within walking distance of the town centre.

Nice accommodation for a short time

Room was dirty, full of tiny ants (all over beds, the floor and bathroom). Shower floor so slippy that both my husband and daughter fell over. Towels thin and tiny. Open bottle of water left in room for us. Kettle in room but no cups?!?! Didn't bother with breakfast as heard it wasn't worth getting up for.  Pool area not exactly child friendly and water full of wasps.
Didn't bother complaining as hotel was full and we didn't fancy sleeping in a fumigated room.
Very pleased to leave.
