A beautifully appointed, well equipped and very comfortable Casa for a self catering holiday. We thought it would be well presented on the TV programme Grand Designs, with its mix of traditional and modern architecture. We stayed for 10 days in March, the weather was very cold, but the central heating and log burner made everything very cosy. We flew from Manchester to Bilbao, hired a car, then a simple 2 hour drive to Mave. Another access could be by ferry from UK to Santander which is only 1 hour away. The location of the Casa is in a quiet village, in the midst of lovely countryside, it is perfectly located for many activities. Walking and Bird Watching in the local area, visiting the historic cities of Leon, Burgos and Palencia, easy days out, the coast and the mountain range only an hour away. Alvaro was the perfect host, very helpful, informative about the local area and region, he made us feel extremely welcome and could not do enough to ensure our comfort. Thank you for helping us to have a brilliant time in Northern Spain.
