just had 10 days in bikini manor, and we absolutely loved it, the view from our apartment was breath taking, apartment was clean and tidy , more spacious than the photos show, pool was cleaned every morning which i liked , nice sun bathing area, and loved the bbq areas and terraces, the location was  very good, close to beach and local restaurants, and I would def come back next year

Had a fantastic 2-weeks staying at Bikini Beach Manor. The views from this property are unparalleled in Gordon’s Bay. This property is ideally located between Cape Town and Hermanus Bay, which helps exploring all that the Cape offers. The property is a collection of self contained apartments with individual brai and decking areas. There is also a decent sized shared swimming pool with sun deck. Niall goes out of his way to make sure you have a great stay. The location is spectacular and the accommodation has everything you need. Perfect spot for sundowners. Have lunch at the Mediterranean restaurant Zest on the beachfront. Looks like nothing from the outside, but the food and ambience is great! 

We arrived late, but the owner was there to welcome us. 
The apartment was beautiful laid out with the most magnificent views from each window.
We found it comfortable and functional and a home from home.

7 of us just stayed here and it was amazing. The view every morning makes you want to move there for good 😃
Neil (Crystal Palace fan🤔) who owns it is a nice man who looks after the place well. It's tidy clean n well looked after. Had a great stay (7 nights) well spaced and oh, did I mention the view 😂. It's got a communal pool but tbh the beach is a 10 min walk. Pukka!

We had a lovely time in this great apartment in Gordon's Bay. The views are stunning and Gordon's Bay is a small town with a big character! Some hidden gems in Zest and always a party in the Thirsty Oyster. The apartment was beautifully appointed and well equipped and a great place to stay to explore the Cape. You will need a car. Niall and Victoria couldn't have been more helpful. Thanks for a great holiday!

We had booked the Presidential Suite for 2 weeks from 7 to 20 April 2019 and chose this option from the description provided on the website. We were disappointed to find that there were in fact only 2 proper bedrooms and 1 useful full bathroom. Bedroom 3 did not have a Queen size bed as indicated but 2 single beds and the en suite appeared to be an after thought which was cramped and you bumped your head in entering. Bedroom 4 was a study that a small bed had been squeezed into. Bedroom 2 had a cramped en suite that had a basin at a strange height and a small open shower. I had sent the owner Niall a message mentioning that the centre light over the dining room table had no cover exposing the wiring and bulbs, the cupboard door below the eye level oven fell off and that the single bed in bedroom 3 is unstable and rocks. He came over within a few minutes and started to verbally abuse us and shouted that we are ungrateful and he knows what type of people we are!!? I am not sure if he had been drinking but this was no way to treat his guests. The next day we had a meeting with him to try and resolve the issues and in that meeting had to ask him to curb the swearing, the relationship was a bit better after we had discussed the issues. The cleaners tried their best to get rid of the many cockroaches running around and it appeared as though the roaches were living in or behind the dish washer. This apartment is also not suited for people who have difficulty with steps, there are 5 levels to negotiate and slippery when wet, at night there is limited lighting on these steps, be warned. The view from the braai area is to die for and the lights from the Strand at night make for a wonderful setting.

Great View However Presidential Suite Not Up To Standard

As nearly all places in winelands were fully booked we decided to stay in Gordons Bay. We had the "penthouse" apartment.  This apartment has two bedrooms, the main bedroom has a double bed but the bath is directly behind the headboard of the bed. Not that this is a big problem but it makes showering in the bath more difficult and on the photo's it doesn't show that the bath is part of bedroom. The 2nd bedroom has two singles and a seperate showerroom.
The living room has TV with satellite and a kitchen with most things needed (no dishwasher but it does have a washing machine) although it shows wear and tear, like the blinds  etc.
Big problem however was that the apartment has no airco (and the fans are to weak). Being the top floor this apartment becomes unbearably hot in the summertime. Even the evening breeze doesn't help to cool off the app to have a good night sleep as if you leave windows open you get mosquitos in bedroom and all blinds are banging against windows because of breeze so very noisy.
Another minus point is that there is no balcony or terrace connected to apartment. You have to walk out of apartments and some stairs downwards to pool to get to terrace belonging to app. So that is not very usefull.
However, the apartment has a great view of the bay and mountains, and is in high season not too expensive and it is clean.
For a good restaurant go to Waterkloof in Sir Lowry, great food and wines (book in advance) or Camphors at Vergelegen, 95@morgenster is not as good but still worth going.
Wifi is available but slow and not stable.

Great view but too

Although the views were stunning the property is not what its made out to be. There is a main sewerage line running through the house from top to bottom of the whole property. In the back room of the presidential suite the smell was unbearable to say the least the caretaker did apologise and said the valve on the pipe had not been closed properly and he so called fixed it (this pipe runs through the cupboard in the room) however the smell did not go away. Talking to other guests at the pool they all had the same problem in there units. The place was certainly not spotless, Dishwasher did not work, stove had issues as well as washing machine. We paid for a cleaning service and then received the caretake and his mother which just washed dishes floors and left(Not what we paid for) We were told that the bedding would be changed weekly which was not provided so had to do our own linen.

The only good thing to say about Bikini beach manor in gordons bay is it's stunning view.

The owner is arrogantly racist & has no common sense.

This weekend was a birthday celebration & celebration of all the fathers in our family.

 

The owner barges in to the apartment swearing in the presence of our young children & our elderly parents..

He was a huge burly man, & instead of calmly talking, he shouted saying we broke the rules.

Saying that no visitors are allowed

Nowhere on booking.com does it say this.

He intimidated us & traumatised our children.

The units themselves are poorly kept & for the price definitely not worth it.

The owner needs to take an anger management course.

Definitely will not go back or recommend this place ever.

We are 35 years post apartheid but when you meet this arrongant, racist & disrespectful person,  one wonders if we are really living in a free & fair country!!
