106 reviewsWe visited Venice for 2 nights in August with my husband and 9yr old. The hotel was in the perfect location. It is a 5min walk from San Marco and about a 7min walk from Rialto Bridge. Before we arrived the owner messaged us to find out what time we were to arrive. The hotel is in an area with a Spar supermarket and a couple of restaurants two steps away. We we warmly welcomed and check-in was relatively easy. We could also leave our luggage after checkout. The room was clean and big for Venice. The only downside was the noise outside starting from 7am. I would imagine it would be the same for any hotel in this location as the shop owners want to move about before the tourist set in for the day. Breakfast is typical Italian with pastries, yoghurt, juice and coffee. To be honest, that's all you really need. If you are looking for a simple hotel with easy access to everything, then Casa Dolce Venezia is the way to go.

In accordance with the Institutional Regulations and the rules governing the fee for access, with or without a shuttle service, in Venice and the small islands of the Venetian Lagoon, an additional fee is charged to day-trippers who do not stay overnight and plan to visit the historic city centre from Friday to Sunday or on public holidays, from 08:30 AM to 04:00 PM. The fee will be from EUR 5.00 to 10.00 per day, depending on the date of booking. After payment, tourists must have a confirmation. Exempt from this fee are children under 14; residents of Venice and the Veneto region; people working or studying in Venice. Guests staying overnight are also exempt from this fee and must pay the city tax at the accommodation facilities. A cleaning tax is not included in the reservation price and is payable separately at the hotel.
