7 reviewsAs two couples (ages 65 – 76), we stayed in apartment Rita for 10 days in April, 2013. The apartment, located in Trevi, a small town in Umbria, was clean, comfortable and conveniently located for travel throughout Umbria. Stefano (Stef’ a no) Spellucci is a friendly, helpful and informative host. He had someone pick us up from and return us at the end of the rental to the Trevi rail station. We traveled to Spello, Spoleto, Assisi, Perugia and Foligno by train/bus. We rented a car in Perugia for 5 days and traveled to other towns not as easily accessible by train. It is a 20-minute walk from the Trevi station to the apartment, without particularly hurrying, although it is all uphill. There is no ticket office at the station and the ticket machine is an older model and not too reliable. Stefano will show you a local shop where you can buy train tickets. It is a 5-minute walk from the station, directly on the way to the apartment. Be aware the walk to the top of the hill, where the town center and restaurants sit, is steep and quite a hike. The narrow paths/roads, turn, split and otherwise conspire to get you lost. There is bus service between the station (located in Trevi Borgo at the bottom of the hill) and Trevi at the top. We never got a current timetable, but I think there are only a few buses each day. The apartment is two flights up, with no elevator. There is a balcony off the kitchen, with a spectacular view of the Umbrian valley below. We had good Wi-Fi connectivity, although signal in the two bedrooms was sometimes iffy. We never had a problem accessing the net from the kitchen. Speaking of the kitchen, there is a new refrigerator and stove/range. The bathroom has a small washing machine and the apartment includes a folding drying rack you can put on the balcony to dry cloths. There is no dishwasher. There is a combination bathtub/shower. A hair dryer is furnished. We found the apartment to be very nice, if you either have a car or are prepared to walk. If we return to Umbria, we will strongly consider returning to Trevi and this apartment. http://www.casarufini.it/en/index.htm
