BB Caliu

This place is lovely. Very clean, bright, new. Wish my bed at home was as comfortable as the bed there. Spacious room and bathroom and welcoming owner (understands English, but you'll get a lot more out of your stay if you speak Italian), who will accommodate any arrival/departure time with a smile. I stayed 7 nights. Was a perfect base for visiting the northwest of Sicily--Trapani is only 15 minutes away, and you can be on the Autostrade in five minutes. You have a beautiful view of the Egadi Islands from the B&B. The little town of Marausa has a fantastic pizzeria (Pizza Chef), with possibly the best pizzas I've had in Sicily. Plus a fantastic gelateria. Really enjoyed my time there. A lot of people have said how difficult it is to find B&B Caliu--and that's true, as there is no road name. So here's the simple direction: When coming into Marausa from the south end (the Birgi end), drive all the way though town on the 'main' road. When you think you've got to the end, and the road starts to curve upwards to Palma, with a guardrail on both sides, look to your right. It's the last little 'street,' next to a field and olive trees, and there's a sign with the B&B name on it. Go up there and turn to the right onto the little unpaved bit. Can't fail to spot the colorful building!
