Close to the place where the Bed and Breakfast Scacco Matto is located today was one of the lines of defense of Pistoia, a strategic military point in the mountains. Many violent actions took place there. Ironically, in this same place today what we find is peace and proximity to nature, an ideal place for staying with the family. Nothing better to relax and leave the hustle and bustle of the modern competitive life far away than a stay at Scacco Matto. Listen to the cooing of the water, go to the nearby river and jump from stone to stone, dine outdoors watching Lucchio's tower on the mountain close. Best of all, enjoy the hospitality of the owner Bárbara. We recommend the breakfast talking to Bárbara who suggests entertainments and walks in the surroundings, an aperitif with delicious snacks at dusk and the typical local dishes ordered for meals prepared with fresh vegetables grown with passion in the garden of Franco, Bárbara's husband. So, from the first time that our family stayed at the Scacco Matto 10 years ago whenever possible we returned.
