B&B Casa Fischer

We stayed at Casa Fischer for 10 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of owners Agostino and Silva. They are helpful and friendly. The house is modern, clean and huge. The WiFi is excellent strength throughout the house, which the kids loved. The kitchen and laundry are fully equipped, bedrooms are supplied with linen and towels and each has an ensuite. Pontasserchio is just outside of Pisa so you will need to hire a car. From the house it is an easy drive along 1 road to the Free Car Park Pietrasantina from where you can easily walk (about 10 mins) to the Historical Centre of Pisa to see the wonderful sights of The Leaning Tower, the Duomo and Piazza dei Miracoli. Pisa itself is an underrated Tuscan destination - there is much to see and do and eat - just follow Agostino's excellent recommendations. From the Pietrasantina car park, the Lam Rossa Shuttle Bus takes you to the Pisa Central Station (as well to the Leaning Tower and Centre of Pisa) from where you can catch trains to the many wonderful and famous destinations of Florence, Siena, Cinque Terra, etc. By car, exploring around the area is a delight. Again, Agostino is an excellent guide and will suggest many interesting sites and day trips. The drive to magnificent Lucca is only 15-20 minutes, the local Thermal Baths at San Giuliano Terme is virtually in the next village (less than 10 min drive) and the Vecchiano Beach is just 10 minutes away. Pontasserchio is conveniently located just off motorways E80 and A11 if you want to explore more distant towns/regions. Within 5 minutes walking distance of the house is a supermarket (Eurospin), pharmacy and an excellent pizza restaurant. Also the best coffee and cakes can be had at Pasticceria Marieangela which is merely a short walk across the road. We would love to return to Tuscany and will definitely stay at Casa Fischer again.
