70 reviewsWe were directed to this lovely agritourismo by some friends we were visiting for a weekend. It is probably one of the most perfect out-of-the-way places I have ever been. We were there in late April, and the poppies had not started blooming, yet, but I would wager it would be amazing in late May. As it was, it was an oasis of peace and quiet. It is about 30 minutes from Mantova with its museums and walking paths, and only minutes from the small town of San Benedetto Po. There are bike trails on the levees of the River Secchia nearby, as well as along the Po River, and they have bicycles available for free. The owners are lovely, and will attend to your every need. Our room was in what was a stable or dairy at one time, and was large and immaculate. Breakfast in the main building was wonderful, and I cannot say enough about the butter from the local dairy with homemade bread and jam. The homemade pastries looked wonderful, but I was enjoying the eggs and bread too much to try them. If you have a car, and would like to stay someplace in the country, I most highly recommend Corte Bertoia
