The room was very clean, and in a perfect neighborhood in Riomaggiore, but the true value of staying at Ciao Bella is in its host and owner, Stefano. In every aspect, Stefano went above and beyond to make sure that our stay in Riomaggiore was fantastic. When our train was delayed and we couldn't arrive until very late, he made sure we had a way to check into our room. When we enjoyed our stay so much we wanted to add another night, he made the process easy and informal, and even moved our baggage to another room in his building for us so we could wake up early and enjoy a hike. When we ate at his restaurant, he greeted us warmly and gave us VIP treatment. And when he tried to buy him a drink at the end of our stay to thank him for his kindness, he insisted that he pick up the bottle of wine we shared. I cannot recommend Ciao Bella enough, and when I return to Riomaggiore, I will not be staying anywhere else!
