We spent a perfect two weeks at the Villa Donati approximately twenty minutes drive from Siena. It is a large and luxurious historic group of buildings converted in to luxury apartments situated on a high hill surrounded by olive groves and avenues of ancient cypress trees. Apartments vary in size, two swimming pools, fantastic views across to Siena with atmospheric walks and/ bicycle rides on the doorstep. The manager Francesco is welcoming and always helpful when necessary and the family owners live on the site, providing guests with the most accommodating and considerate facilities. With a hire car there is a collection of beautiful drives and destinations close by with day visits to such hill towns as Montipulciano, Pienza and Montalcino. This is a very special centre to be able to visit some of the most beautiful areas of Tuscany and is highly recommended.
