B&B Al Museo

A five minute walk from Reggio Lido train station. Only two rooms., ours was the two room one at the back. Upstairs is a bed (too hard for my taste, and I like hard beds!) and chair, lamps. Downstairs is a sofa bed, table, wardrobes, drawers, TV, cd player & DVD player. Also the bathroom with a bath and separate shower, toilet and bidet. More like an apartment than an hotel room, beautifully decorated with African wall hangings and ornaments (East African I think?). Scented candles, very clean and air-conditioned. As it was at the back it was very quiet, a tranquil haven to return to after the bustling city of Reggio! There is a communal kitchen with a fridge, freezer, microwave and a selection of wrapped croissants, madeleines, salted crackers, biscuits, a coffee machine (pods in the bedroom), there was also a tempting fresh tart but we didn’t dare break into it as we’d have eaten all of it! Nicole is very charming, friendly, helpful and full of local information. Speaks English which was a great help as our Italian stretches to asking for various coffees and pointing! Joanna who comes in to clean is also lovely although her English is not excellent as Nicole’s we got on great. My one recommendation is take your own soap as we couldn’t get the soap dispensers to work. I ended up unscrewing them and pouring way too much into the sink! Other than that Casa di Polly’s is simply fabulous and a great place to stay for shopping, dining out and visiting Reggio.
