Casal Duca

Casal Duca is a wonderful, lovely and excellent option to stay close to Tarento and the beaches/coast that start for a very long space in Campo Leporano, but at the same time a optimum place to relax far away of the crowds in the coast. The house itself is a splendorous masseria (old half residence / half farm of landwoners), surrounded of farm fields. It has a lot of space for kids, with a nice open courtyard, with all the place to park the car. The rooms are wide, with a balcony that opens to the field. They have good air condition and a small fridge, and a very comfortable bed. The WC & showers are shared between four rooms, very close to the room, but for us was not an inconvenient. The only point is that wi-fi does not reach rooms, but since now there is no roaming in Europe... not a big issue. We believe that in fact Casal Duca has 5 rooms, so this allows to relax and feel like at home. The house itself is very well maintained (you can see close how other very nice old building are falling down) But the most impressive two things were: a) the kindness, friendship and continouous care of Paola, our host, that was pending of all details. She provided all kind of info of what to do/what to visit/ where to eat, and she offered always to do a prereserve if required. She offered us to prepare our fruit and also offered us some of the house one. The best service we could image b) the breakfast, a real jweel with a lot of products of the area (frisella, some salume and cheese, a lot of fruit), delicious pastry and cakes, marmelades, capuccino, yogurt. Breakfast became one of the best moments of the day. Thanks a lot to Paola and congratulations for the way they manage such a small paradise in the field (yet close to the beach).
