Tenuta Sant'Emiliano

We stayed at this lovely Agriturismo property for two nights, during a 7-night self-drive tour of Puglia and it was wonderful. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our spacious room, which also had a small outside seating area with table, separate from the adjoining rooms. There is a beautiful lawn with sweeping views towards the sea, which is very pleasant to lounge around into the evening as the Sun shines on this area until nearly Sunset (late April). The room was well appointed with a good bathroom and full size fridge rather than a small minibar, which was very useful. The property is in the countryside, close to the main road to Otranto, which is around a 15-minute drive. They have some bikes but these were “not ready” when I asked to borrow one so I walked to the stone tower that dominates the skyline, on the coast, which took around 20 minutes. The breakfast was pretty good but cakes dominated rather than savoury, although there was a small selection of meats and cheeses, there was no bread, which we found unusual. We had one dinner in the restaurant, which I have reviewed separately under the restaurant reviews. The staff were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay on when we left, they gave us a bottle of Olive Oil from the estate, which was a nice touch. We would happily stay here again.
