Residence La Bellotta

I had an amazing stay at La Bellotta from start to finish. We were picked up from the airport by Renzo, who was absolutely charming. Renzo also drove us anywhere in Oleggio and picked us up. We went to the supermarket, train station and he picked us up when we were finished. Renzo also took us to the Gelato and helped us choose, the ice cream was expensive but absolutely delicious 😋. Renzo also drove us to Ondaland water park and picked us up for a fee, which was a very good price. Worth a visit, great water park. When we got back Renzo ordered us pizza on our behalf which was fab. The apartment was very spacious and very clean. It has a proper cooker, utensils and full size fridge freezer. The balcony was huge and south facing, so sunny all day. There was a large flat screen sky tv, which we didn’t use, but Renzo says that it caters for English channels. There isn’t air conditioning, however there are fans, which kept me cool even in a 33 degree heat. The pool was perfect for the size of the property. And very peaceful. Considering how close it is to the airport, there is very little aircraft noise. There are animals near the property which were lovely, especially the goats, very cute. We did walk to la famila supermarket via the rear of the property which took under 20 minutes, we also used the free bikes which took under 10, 5 minutes back as down hill. The center of town is easily walkable via the same route and takes under 30 minutes. I would not recommend cycling to the river as the last 5 minutes is on a very busy road. It is worth a visit as very beautiful and has a cafe which is very cheap. The beach is fine stones and there is a very strong water current but you can swim in it. We went to Arona on the lake Maggiore via train, €2.70 then to Stressa by boat €6 each way, buy ticket from the office behind the water front. In Stressa you will find the cable car to the top of the mountain €19, where you will find Alpyland which is a fun rollercoaster, controlled by you €5. On a Monday there is a great market in Oleggio but it does finish by 12pm. Great bargains, I loved it. Amy Sushi restaurant near the famila supermarket is amazing, €12.90 for lunch €22.90 for dinner. All you can eat of the menu, which is cooked to order. We had the lunch which was great value. On a final note, the hospitality from La Bellotta was one of the best I have ever had, Muchas Gracias to all that contributed to my wonderful stay and I would love to return again 💕
