Podere Papilio

I have spent the first night of four at Podere Papilio and feel compelled to write a review even before my stay has ended. What a stunning place this is, It can be found down meandering lane behind green butterfly adorned gates which open to reveal a lavender filed huge garden populated by lots of beautiful butterflies. Daniel and Liliana came to greet me and were so welcoming. I was shown to my room which is utterly charming. There was a bowl of fresh apricots perfectly ripe and a kettle to make tea and coffe a small fridge with water and a bottle of wine. There is a lovely patio with table and chairs to sit and soak up the beautiful countryside. The breakfast was amazing, a bowl of fresh fruit, yogurt, soft boiled egg, fresh bread, a selection of local cheeses including the freshest creamiest burrata I have ever tasted, home made jams, local honey, fresh sfoglie made by Daniel. The breakfast is served in the trulli which is just so perfect. Daniel and Liliana are the prefect hosts, they can't do enough to please. It is perfectly located too, just a matter of 8 or 9 minutes to the centre of Alberobello so after a day mingling with loads of tourists there is a haven to return to. I cannot recommend this lace highly enough.
