Agriturismo Barbanera

My family of 4 with dog spent one night here with our friends - another family of 4 with 2 dogs and it was just what we hoped for. Spacious family rooms with beautiful views of the owners' vineyards and the surrounding countryside (good walks) with the snow-capped Alps in the distance. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful, suggesting places to visit. We hadn't booked any tours of the local wine producers and found they were all closed, so the owner very kindly organised a very interesting tour of his "Cantina" for us, although the best time for this kind of visit is in the wine-making season from mid August to mid October. The biggest plus of Agriturismo Barbanera is that, unlike many Agriturismi, you can have a delicious and ample dinner on site and try out their fabulous and wide selection of wine without anyone having to drive! Their wine is also on sale to take home and I strongly recommend their Barbera "Nizza"15%, but all the wine we manged to taste in one evening (Gavi, Barbera 13,5% and Brandy) was excellent! They also organise wine tasting in the afternoon if you'd like to sample all their wares.
