We have just returned from a 3-night stay (22nd to 25th August 2025) and had an enjoyable stay. We based our booking on the proviso that it was good value and close to the airport and transportation links. We used the Alibus shuttle to get to Piazza Garibaldi (central station) from the airport. We purchased tickets from the kiosk machine (just a short walk on the left when you exit arrivals) for €5 each (€10 all in) and the journey time was approx. 15 minutes. You could also pay the driver once onboard (card and cash). The queue for this bus was very long and people were pushing in. Once the bus arrived at Central station, we saw the building sign ‘Kimbo’ straight ahead and knew the hotel was adjacent to this. It took approx. 2 minutes’ walk to get to the hotel from the drop off point. We arrived before check in time of 2pm but the friendly chap on reception let us store our bags on floor 2 free of charge. There are toilets in reception (1 female and 1 male) both had plenty of toilet roll and handwash. Once we freshened up and stored our bags we headed straight out to our first port of call - Sorrento. We headed straight back to Central station, went down the stairs to locate the ticket office for the Cirumvesuviana train. This area is located the far end of the underground and there were several tellers on duty to purchase the train tickets. Sorrento was the end of the line, the tickets one way cost £7.98 full price for both of us and the journey took 1 hour 10 minutes. The same train is used to get to Pompeii (same line as Sorrento) where the journey time was 30 minutes and cost £5.72 full price for both of us . We did Pompeii the following day (tickets purchased from the same location as Sorrento) and had a fantastic time. We also used line 2 of the underground to visit the Diego Armando Maradona Football stadium (25 minutes away and a short walk from the station, and cost £5.20 all in). All the transportation methods we used throughout our stay were very punctual, easy to understand and were good value for money. We couldn’t help noticing the amount of car parks dotted around the city where they are offering free car parking for the first 45 minutes, even at the airport they were offering free car parking for the 1st 45 minutes (you would never see this in greedy England). Once we arrived back from Sorrento, we were ready to check in. Please note you do not get allocated a key card but a passcode instead which is written on a piece of card (access to the room is passcode). We took photos of this passcode in the event the piece of card went missing. The room was very grand with super high ceilings (you would need one extremely high ladder to paint the ceiling or change the lightbulb), we were pleased to be put in a front facing view of the square that had a lovely balcony. There was a large mirror, decent storage area with plenty of hangers, mini fridge, desk, rubbish bin and safe (free of charge). There were a few USB charging points at the side of the bed but struggled to find any power outlets to use the iron. At one point we were going to unplug the fridge but then found a hidden outlet just to the side of the desk. There isn’t a kettle or tea/coffee making facilities provided but there is a coffee machine in the lobby that charges €1 for a drink. The bed was comfortable and had 2 soft pillows and 2 hard pillows. Take some earplugs as you will need them. The noise from outside is ridiculous (car horns, beeping, sirens, leaf blowers, people shouting, talking loud etc). Even if you got placed in a room facing the internal courtyard, we still think you would still be able to hear it. Internally we couldn’t hear anything from the 2 rooms either side of us but someone from the room directly above was consistently waking us up approx. 6am every morning. It sounded like they were jumping off the bed and then stomping and leaping around, goodness knows what they were doing but it was annoying and went on for ages (ceilings not soundproof). The room had a combined heater/cooler for climate control located above the entry door but was set to 18c and it wouldn’t let you adjust it, so didn’t keep us cool at all. We slept above the duvet for the 3 nights we were there. We had read prior to arrival that hairdryers and an iron are not provided in the room but are available upon request. We just took our own travel iron and hairdryer instead. 2 x towel bales were provided with a small and medium towel along with 2 massive bath sheets. There was a hairdryer within the bathroom like the one they use in a hairdresser’s (very powerful and got hair dry within a few minutes), 2 x hand wash dispensers featured in the bathroom (1 next to sink and 1 next to bidet) and a further combined shampoo/handwash dispenser provided in the shower (all fully stocked up). 2 cardboard cups were provided along with 2 small bottles containing body wash. It was a struggle getting a shower. Despite the water pressure and water temperature being perfect the location of the shower head holster was in the wrong position making it difficult to get comfortably washed. The shower tray was petite to start with but with the shower head holster facing the saloon style door (where both doors didn’t marry up) meant it restricted your movement resulting in water escaping through the door. If they moved the shower head holster to the adjacent wall this could be circumvented. We weren’t sure on the housekeeping rules i.e. do they do a light clean? do they only clean every few days? We therefore put the ‘please make up my room’ sign outside the door to see what would happen. When we returned on the first day the housekeeping team had done everything – emptied the bins, made the bed, replenished the towels and toilet rolls they even hoovered and washed the floor (they did this for the 3 days we were here). Therefore if you want your room cleaned please remember to put the sign on your door. There is 1 elevator which can take ages to arrive, none of the rooms are in proximity of the lift. The reception and corridors all smell lovely (not sure if there is an air freshener concealed somewhere). There are recycling points within the lobby, we utilised these a lot especially for the plastic water bottles and glass bottles we went through. Our stay was room only (not including breakfast) so couldn’t comment on breakfast, other than it was based on floor 1 and could be purchased separately if you fancied it. One of the unique selling points of the hotel is the fabulous roof top terrace. There are some fantastic views of the city and beautiful Mount Vesuvius. We first went up after we got back from Sorrento with some beers and alco pops and watched the sunset. The rest of our stay we utilised it well. There are lots of table and chairs and two sunbeds, plus there’s recycling bins up there too. Before you access the roof top there is another communal area with tables and chairs, Fußball table and a microwave. On our final day we took a boat trip to Capri. We walked down to the port from the hotel which took approx. 20 minutes, the boat tickets cost £87.74 return all in for both of us and the journey was approx. 1 hour. Location wise this hotel was on point. It was close to all the transportation links, shops and restaurants. McDonalds is only a few doors down and we visited a lovely pizza restaurant at the end of the street called Aladin, the pizzas here were fantastic and all under €9. We found that some of the convenience stores along the street were making prices up and there were a few times we walked out for instance some were charging €20 for a 70cl bottle of vodka whereas you could get the same vodka at PAM superstore for €8, furthermore some were wanting €5 for an alcopop when a store next to it was charging €2. The food outlet store (over the road from the hotel) was also cheap for food and alcohol. Theres a few stalls near the hotel selling football shirts and memorabilia. We got all our fridge magnets from these stalls including the ones for Pompeii and Capri (these were all €1, but they were charging over €5 for fridge magnets in Pompeii and capri). The ones in Sorrento were cheap and managed to get some for €1. We felt completely safe in Naples, there’s lots of military and police presence which gives an added sense of security. We didn’t see much rubbish near the hotel, but we did see lots when we walked down to the port. We couldn’t understand this as there’s rubbish bins and recycling points in abundance. Getting back to the airport our plan was to get the shuttle bus again (return bus stop is just over the road where you get dropped off next to the taxi rank). The queue looked relatively small but then started to grow, again with people pushing in at the front. With time ticking and the bus not appearing anytime soon (plus the chances of getting on the bus when everyone was pushing in looked quite slim) we decided to get a taxi. The taxi driver accepted card, and we were charged €23. Overall, we had a lovely little time in Naples, we visited some magnificent places and seen some glorious sights. This was the first time we had stopped in the B&B brand and enjoyed our stay. The team members we encountered spoke excellent English and were very friendly and helpful. Grazie mille Gash and Leyna
