Villaggio is based within Metapontum Village. It’s perfectly located to explore all Basilicata and Puglia that has to offer. Matera is a 40 minute drive, Sassi di Matera is a must see. Accommodation is spacious (we were 2 adults and 3 kids) Front and back gardens with large covered front terrace. Great for those who travel with a dog. Plenty on site sports facilities, and pool. Beach is only a 10 minute walk away or you have the option of having Felice drive you in his bus. Felice will also help you find your beach umbrella and beach lounger. Felice is very friendly. Beach is excellent. The Ionian coast of the Basilicata region has vast fine, golden sandy beaches that overlook a clean turquoise sea. The beach in Metaponto has a crystalline sea and equipped with various bathing establishments. It’s beach has a shallow and gently sloping bottom which is suitable for families with children. Metaponto offers it’s visitors a fun Aquatic park for all ages. On site restaurant and market are nice and convenient. It’s possible to rent bikes and ride to the beach. On site staff were super friendly and very helpful. Franco was very generous with his time and we were delighted that he shared with us some stories about his good old soccer days. Franco Selvaggi won the FIFA World Cup with Italy in 1982 and he definitely has another win here! We will definitely be back again. Thanks for a memorable summer vacation, Massimo and Melissa.
