Arrived into Messina,on an early Saturday evening, crazy traffic and driving and no place booked to stay that night. My wife spotted the Residence when we drove past it looking for a parking space. I checked out the room and got it at a decent price. We got a very large, clean room with an adjoining sitting room and kitchen. Spotless, good tv, wifi and air con. The receptionist was extremely helpful and recommended a great restaurant for dinner. The accommodation is in a central location and the only minor criticism was the basic breakfast (poor coffee) which was brought on a tray to our room, the following morning. Note that it is a residency rather than a hotel but it was an excellent place to stay. Can't understand the other review, sounds like a completely different place! One other point, although we only stayed the one night, I enjoyed Messina, found people really helpful and would like to go back.
