Hotel Elba Residence Dei Fiori

This hotel is conveniently located both for access to the village and the beach/sea. Reasonably modern, clean and bright. The bathroom was large with plenty of room. The beds were fairly comfortable. Certainly from an international perspective a three star rating is appropriate. All the staff were lovely some speaking excellent English. The breakfast was self service offering a good range of choices including cereals. Unfortunately the coffee was from a machine and was fairly synthetic tasting. The hotel had a problem with mosquitos but reception provided a mosquito appliance for the room on request which worked. The room we had was very noisy as it was adjacent to the street. Unfortunately the rooms did not have fly screens. Dinner at the hotel was disappointing. Whilst the pasta was nice from a taste point of view, having to fish out pieces of crustacean shells mixed through the pasta left a lot to be desired. The octopus dish was very disappointing, a few pieces of over cooked octopus swimming in a watery tasteless sauce. Cannoli for dessert was filled with cream and not ricotta so another disappointment.
