Piccolo Hotel Claudia Dolomiti Unesco -

Carlos and Elizabeth (with the help of their son Roberto who helps out during University holiday ) are excellent hosts , very warm and friendly, they run this beautifully renovated boutique hotel with perfection. Our bedroom ( no 7) was very spacious , clean and modern with a balcony that had a view of the mountains and the village centre. The bathroom had an excellent shower and was clean with plenty of towels and toiletries etc. The hotel had a small wellness area in the basement which again had been beautifully designed and had a sauna , steam room, relaxation area and heat therapy cabinet . ( lovely fluffy bath robes too!) There is a boot and ski room too. The ground floor has a lounge/bar area and a very pleasantly decorated restaurant too. Breakfasts were good although no hot food option- which was not a concern for us . The evening meal ( we had booked half board with Inghams ) choices made the previous evening consisted of 5 courses and of a very good standard, dietary request accommodated and with concern . The food is prepared by an excellent chef, it’s beautifully presented and good choice . (There is a good wine list too) Eleanor the waitress was so friendly and helpful too and runs the restaurant with supreme efficiency. Carlos and Elizabeth are hands on in the hotel and really take pride in caring and serving their guests. We were the only English guests and we enjoyed the authenticity of this hotel. There are only 15 bedrooms at this hotel, we felt very at home here , perfect after a days skiing , we skied locally (had amazing sunshine all week )and skied further a field too, we did the Sella Ronda ( orange direction) one day , another day we visited the Hidden Valley and again another day skied around Alta Badia. The hotel is positioned very close to the ski lift and is a hop skip and a jump into the lovely village centre. Carlos was so helpful, we were unsure how long it would take us to do the Sella Ronda and Carlos said not to worry, if we missed a lift he would come and collect us no problem. Wish there was a boutique hotel like this in every ski resort - thoroughly recommend !
