La Fattoria Dei Nonni Resort Dell'Etna

This place is a piece of paradise. Not the first time we stayed there and I can say that consistency is a virtue these people have. It is a typical Agritourism, all rooms, mostly in the form of scattered structures on their vast land, yet all strategically situated within a stone’s throw away from all amenities like the pool and the restaurant. Every structure is surrounded by a plethora of flora. Hence, one can expect a high degree of privacy should one wish to chill outside the assigned room. Rooms are spacious and squeaky clean. Please bear in mind that you would be staying on a farm-like structure, and you would inevitably be paid visits by “unwanted” creatures (especially during the summer time) which you would not find in concrete jungles. A bit of anti-mosquito (or whatever) repellant will do the trick. Nothing that will eat you alive. I strongly suggest that you opt for lunch or dinner or both - depending on the availability and circumstances. “Amazing” doesn’t even begin to describe the quality. Obviously most of the food comes directly from their land…fresh, genuine and abundant. Simplicity is key. And their olive oil…liquid gold. Buy some before you leave…upon availability obviously. You like shopping? Perfect. A 10 minute drive to Etnapolis and a 40 minute drive to Sicilia Outlet Village. You can leave everything in your vehicle since there’s plenty of gated parking. Being an Agritourism run by the owners, Francesco and Angela are the personification of hospitality. Be it the first time you’re visiting or a repeat visitor, they will treat you more like a friend than a client. Always readily available to tend to your needs and always making sure that these are satisfied as best as humanly possible. Just ask. You’d be surprised!! One final comment. If you look the place up on internet, (eg Google Maps or Google Earth) do not be put off by the surroundings. Unfortunately the town this place makes part of is not the best that Sicily can offer (I’ve seen much worse believe me). When you enter the gate to the Fattoria dei Nonni (Resort dell’Etna), you will find yourselves in a completely different world. I have no hesitation in recommending this place.
