Albergo Luisss

The owners, the delightful Luisa and Marco, go out of their way to help you. They are full of recommendations about places to go and have agreements in place with a delightful restaurant up the road and with a lovely bathing establishment at Marina di Grosseto. The room was huge (actually, two rooms; a large bedroom plus a sitting room!) and spotlessly clean, and a lot of care went into decorating it. The bathroom was also nice and brand new. The hotel has air conditioning in the rooms, free wifi and parking on the premises. And breakfast was great, with fresh croissants, jam tarts and cake. We were only there for a few days so didn't have time, but if you stay for longer you can take advantage of the barbecue for a cookout and there's a gazebo space for outdoor dining. (We were very tempted!) We found the location to be great for us and very quiet. Since the hotel is not right on the beach we took advantage to go to several lovely beaches nearby but off the beaten track - again, thanks to the owners' suggestions. But you need a car, so if you're coming without a car you need to consider renting one or taking public transport. We had a delightful two nights at this hotel thanks to Luisa and Marco: they really care about taking care of their guests and it shows!
