bed & breakfast INSULA

We stayed there for 2 days. We were looking for a place in the center and found Insula by chance, attracted by the impressive façade as we were walking past. The place turned out to be a fantastic discovery. Located in what is probably the most central location of the old town, Insula is carved out of a noble palazzo built in the 15th century and it maintains much of its old charme and grandeur, with very large rooms, vault ceilings with frescos, and furniture, mirrors and fittings from the 17th to 19th century. The owners are direct descendants of the family who built the palazzo- much of the furniture has been passed on over generations-, and they are incredibly nice, helpful and friendly, all of which gave a pleasent family feel to our stay. Gorgeous terraces open to guests and for breakfast. Incredibily affordable price. We highly recommend it and will definitely come back.
