Signora Filippa

This is a small home with two rooms upstairs each with on suite bathrooms. The owner is a lovely older lady who lives there alone. She speaks no English so it is challenging but fun to communicate. She is very intent on pleasing you. She was waiting on the pier to great us as we exited the ferry which was nice. A 2 minute walk to her home from ferry. If you want a 4 star experience then do not go. This is a local home, very clean with good beds but no frills. We loved it. She does not provide breakfast be you can get that easily close by for low cost. The island is a small place but a joy to explore and the people are friendly. Take your hiking shoes. The mountain hike to the castle is challenging but a beautiful view but you should be in shape and bring water if hot. There is a small beach at the castle so take your swim suit to rest and swim. We wished we had known that. Hike takes about 2.5 to 3 hours round trip at normal pace. Many good restaurants and good wine and pastries.
