Bed & Breakfast Atelier Sul Lago Roma

From the moment we first we landed in Rome Ciampino airport our wonderful host, Tiaiana, was on hand to meet, greet and drive us to her home. And what a truly beautiful setting. Perched high above Lake Albano and just a stones throw away from the Papal summer residence in Castlegandolfo. As we were showing to our room we got glimpses of the lake through the shaded veranda. The en-suite room led out to a balcony with an amazing view of the lake below and surrounding forested conical of dormant dormant volcano in which it was formed. We opted for Breakfast on the balcony each morning which included fresh locally baked bread, croissants, preserves along with ham and eggs, juice, teas and espresso. There are several restaurants all within walking distance for lunch or dinner. The train station, which is just a short walk away from the property, is convenient for trips to Rome arriving at Termini Station. Train tickets can be purchased for a couple of euro from the vending machine at the entrance but remember you'll need your visa or similar as it's cashless. Undoubtedly the most memorable time of our stay was the Pasta lesson which was generously gifted to us by Tiaiana's Mother where she prepared the most incredible authentic meal using simple local ingredients.
